BOATING & PUBLIC ACCESS
On New Hampshire's 1,300 lakes and ponds, there are many put ins and points of access. NH Fish and Game has an interactive Public Access Boating and Fishing Map with more than 200 sites where you can launch a boat or fish from shore.
NH Fish and Game is an excellent resource for more information about boating in New Hampshire. Other resources include The Handbook of New Hampshire's Boating Laws and Responsibilities, which is available online for free from the New Hampshire Department of Safety, Marine Patrol Bureau.
Please note: All those 16 years of age or older who operate a powerboat with an engine in excess of 25 horsepower (including electric powered motors) on the public waters in New Hampshire must have a valid safe boating education certificate. For more on this, see the Boater Education Information on the Marine Patrol Bureau pages online.
