WATERFALLS

Thanks to the mountainous terrain and numerous rivers and streams in New Hampshire, the state has more than 100 waterfalls. Most are in the White Mountains. Some are visible from the road, like Silver Cascade and Flume Cascade which are on the north side of Route 302 in Crawford Notch. Others require a walk or hike. The beautiful Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch State Park is a great option for the whole family to enjoy a walk out to view spectacular cascading waterfalls.

If you do visit a waterfall, remember to wear proper footwear-not leather sole shoes, which can be slippery-and take care when traversing wet rocks or streams.
